Year Nine Pupil Theo Houston Secures National Selection
We are delighted to share some exciting news about Year Nine pupil Theo Houston.
Theo represented the Under 14 ISFA (Independent Schools Football Association) Representative team in an international fixture against the Welsh Schools FA team in Cardiff. Despite a fiercely contested match, both teams ended with a commendable 2-2 draw, with Theo showcasing his resilience and determination.
The intensity of the game reached its peak during the penalty shootout. Each side confidently converted their first four penalties, keeping the tension palpable for the players and the enthusiastic crowd of over 200 spectators. Theo demonstrated his goalkeeping ability by making a crucial save, denying Wales from scoring their fifth penalty although England could not take advantage missing their final penalty with Wales winning the sudden death shootout. The tough and competitive nature of the fixture, witnessed by a large and passionate crowd, provided a valuable experience for all the boys involved.
Theo has now been selected to represent the ISFA’s National U15 Team for the upcoming season. This presents an incredible opportunity for him to showcase his skills again on a national level. The journey begins with a camp at Thorpe House School in Buckinghamshire in August.
In addition to his recent success, Theo has received further recognition for his talent and commitment to Football. Aston Villa has extended his contract for an additional two years, a testament to his exceptional abilities and potential. He’s also played for Aston Villa in two international tournaments. Furthermore, Theo received his third call-up for an England camp in April, an impressive achievement within a single season.
