Welcoming a New Chair of Governors
The RGS Worcester community is pleased to announce Mr Andrew Greenway as the new Chair of Governors. Andrew, who currently serves as the Chair of the Governors’ Education Committee and has also been Chair of the Foundation, brings a wealth of experience to his new role, having previously held the position of Managing Director at Accenture, a prominent global consultancy, outsourcing, and technology firm. In addition to his professional background, Andrew serves as a Magistrate on the Worcestershire bench and has a longstanding association with the School, with his four children all attending RGS.
As a Governor since 2015, Andrew has demonstrated a commitment to the School’s governance structures, contributing to both the Board and Foundation. His involvement extends beyond the academic realm, as he is an active member of the Worcester Rowing Club and Worcester St John’s Cycling Club. The RGS Worcester community looks forward to benefiting from Andrews leadership and strategic vision in his new capacity.
With this transition, Mr Stephen Flutter will take on the role of Chair of the Education Committee, ensuring a seamless shift within the governance framework.
The School expresses its sincere appreciation for Mr Quentin Poole and wishes him and his family all the very best for the future as he steps down as Chair and from the Board. Having provided 20 years of dedicated service as a Governor, Quentin played a pivotal role in the development of the School. Initially a Governor of The Alice Ottley School (AOS), Quentin’s involvement was instrumental in the merger between RGS and AOS in 2007. Subsequently, he joined the combined Board, serving as Vice-Chair under Mrs Rosemary Ham’s leadership. In December 2017, Quentin took on the role of Chair of Governors, guiding the School through significant milestones, including the merger with Dodderhill and the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic. It is acknowledged that the current strength and position of The RGS Family of Schools owe much to Quentin’s leadership and dedicated service.
In extending gratitude to Quentin Poole, Andrew Greenway, Stephen Flutter, and all Governors, the RGS Worcester community recognises the invaluable contributions of these volunteers. Their commitment and support have played a vital role in the development and success of The RGS Worcester Family of Schools.
