Tremendous ESAA Cross Country National Finals Results
On Saturday 3 December, the Junior Girls’ Cross Country team made the long journey north to The Grammar School at Leeds to take part in the ESAA Cross Country National Finals.
This was an incredibly enjoyable occasion at a great venue with a muddy and undulating course that provided an excellent challenge for all the participants.
Our team consisted of Lexi Agoston, Claudia Barker and Flo Kelly from Year Eight, along with Evie Kilby, Fleur Higgs and Immy Warne from Year Seven. Mr Stephen Alexander comments that: “All the girls ran their hearts out and performed fantastically against some of the strongest runners from across England.” Lexi Agoston delivered a fantastic individual performance, finishing a superb 9th from 151 runners.
It was a team competition, with each school’s top four runners counting towards their overall total and the RGS team showed real determination and team spirit to achieve a fantastic 11th place nationally out of the 27 teams competing. It was an enjoyable experience for all involved and very well supported by parents too. This was a tremendous result on a national stage and is an achievement of which to be very proud.
Very well done to the entire team!
