Textiles Club Continues
Year Seven and Eight pupils have been enjoying Textiles Lunch Club remotely this half term. They collected resource packs from the department with cord, string, wooden beads and rings so that they could continue with their practical activities from their form rooms to allow us to continue to work safely in our ‘bubbles’.
Mrs Bishop created a series of digital information booklets, film clips and photo diaries to show the pupils a range of activities that the students could complete using the items in their resource packs.
In the spirit of Christmas, the students have made a number of decorative ornaments and hangings using the traditional technique of macrame, which is seeing a bit of a fashionable revival within interior design at present! From Christmas trees to angels and holly wreaths, the pupils have thoroughly enjoyed the activities and risen to the challenge of working remotely once again!
Very well done to all of our Year Seven and Eight pupils for their continued enthusiasm and Merry Christmas from us all in the Textiles Department!
Mrs Jo Bishop, Head of Textiles
