Year Nine Pupils Delight in Their Teatime Concert
Year Nine musicians performed in an excellent Teatime Concert on Tuesday this week. Featuring nineteen pupils, there was a rich range of pieces and styles for the audience to enjoy.
The Concert opened with a contemporary vocal duet by Amelia Morris and Lexie Small, with other popular and theatre songs sung by Immy Warne, Eva Davies, Mimi Paul, Isla Wilson-Thomas, Esme Ammonds and Lilah Morgan. Seb Clarke sang a German Lied by Schubert and Michael McCabe zealously played the guitar while Alex Battle-Welch sang ‘Beggin’ by Maneskin. The Year Nine band concluded the concert’s songs with a confident performance of ‘Call Me’ by Blondie.
Instrumental performances were offered by Isabella Gabriel on the bassoon, Reuben Colclough on the trumpet and Freddie Poynton the Electric Guitar. Dylan Cornacchia played a relaxing piece of Satie on the piano, whilst Darcie Jackson-Adams played a piano medley of some of her favourite songs, which she carefully put together. Lilia Parker played a spirited piece of Handel on the violin, and Nicole Penlington, accompanied by her sister Sasha, closed the concert with another flashy violin piece called ‘Banjo and Fiddle’.
We congratulate all the Year Nine pupils who performed in this Concert.
