Year Eleven Teatime Concert
Our first Teatime Concert of the year took place in Perrins Hall on Wednesday 2 October with Year Eleven pupils giving a varied and enjoyable concert.
The concert opened with Emily Jackson and Elizabeth Kaleniuk singing the moving duet ‘Some Things Are Meant To Be’ from Little Women the musical; Emily returned later in the concert to play Monti’s impressive ‘Czardas’ on her saxophone. There were confident and resonant drum solos from Lucas Wood and Will Hughes, whilst Rachel Crookall and Heidi Porter played a charming folk-inspired flute and harp duet entitled ‘King of the Fairies’.
The rest of the concert featured a host of talented pianists playing piano solos. More reflective pieces played by Sophie Fisher, Ozzy Beswick, Jai Sanehi and Catherine Maragos contrasted spirited miniatures performed by Maisie Chase and Heidi Porter. Thomas Pound brought some jazz with ‘My Funny Valentine’ and Sihan Fu closed the concert with a passionate reading of Chopin’s ‘Nocturne in C Minor Op.48 No.1’.
We thank and congratulate all of these performers for sharing their skill and musicality in this first half of term.
