Sixth Form Student Achieves Prestigious LTCL Level 6 Piano Diploma
We are delighted to celebrate the incredible achievement of Lower Sixth student Sasha, who has been awarded her LTCL (Licentiate of Trinity College London) Level 6 Piano Diploma. This prestigious qualification, equivalent to the final recital of an undergraduate degree, is a testament to her hard work, dedication, and outstanding musical talent.
The LTCL Diploma is one of the highest levels of music performance, requiring exceptional technical skill, artistry, and musicality. Sasha’s success places her among an elite group of musicians who have reached this impressive standard. Achieving the LTCL means she can now wear an academic gown and hood and use the post-nominal letters LTCL after her name. Reflecting on her achievement, Sasha said, “I enjoyed preparing for my LTCL Diploma and was incredibly relieved and thrilled when I received my result.”
Director of Music, Mr Jonathan Soman, praised Sasha’s dedication saying: “I am so proud of Sasha and the hard work she has put into achieving this undergraduate-level Diploma on the piano. Her maturity of playing and commitment are truly outstanding. I cannot wait to hear her perform one of her diploma pieces, Gershwin’s ‘Rhapsody in Blue,’ with the RGS Orchestra at our concert in Worcester Cathedral in March.”
Sasha’s achievement is a fantastic reflection of her passion for music and the support of RGS Worcester’s Music programme, which encourages and nurtures young musicians. The School is incredibly proud of her and looks forward to seeing what she accomplishes next!
