Senior House Dance Brings ’90s Nostalgia to the PAC
In the final week of the Michaelmas Term, the Performing Arts Centre came alive with the much-anticipated Senior House Dance competition. Senior pupils from Ottley, Wylde, Whiteladies, and Elgar took to the stage, entertaining the audience with four carefully choreographed routines.
The audience and judging panel were transported back to the 1990s with an incredible lineup of hits, including Wannabe by The Spice Girls, Lauryn Hill’s Doo Wop (That Thing), Everybody (Backstreet’s Back) by the Backstreet Boys, …Baby One More Time by Britney Spears, Corona’s The Rhythm of the Night, and Shania Twain’s Man! I Feel Like A Woman! Each dance blended energy, humour, and creativity, filling the Performing Arts Centre with applause and laughter.
The competition included costumes, ranging from dragon onesies and tutus to 90s boy band denim ensembles and glow sticks in true 90s rave aesthetic.
In the end, Ottley claimed victory with their spirited 90s-inspired routine. However, all performers deserve immense praise for their hard work, enthusiasm, and entertainment value.
Senior House Dance remains a standout highlight of the Michaelmas Term, and we eagerly anticipate next year’s competition and the many House events ahead as pupils vie for the coveted House Trophy. Well done to everyone involved!
