Senior Football Dinner Marks a Season of Achievement
On Monday, we celebrated the success of the RGS Football programme with the Senior Football Dinner, an event that brought together players to reflect on their achievements this season. The evening provided a chance to recognise the teams’ performances throughout a competitive fixture list, including in The Challenge Cup fixture and marked the culmination of another exciting season.
Football at RGS is driven by passion, teamwork, and a commitment to excellence, with a style of play that reflects the spirit of the ‘beautiful game.’ Embracing the School’s values both on and off the pitch, the programme remains fully inclusive, offering opportunities for all pupils while continuing to compete against some of the strongest independent and state schools across the West Midlands and South West.
Head of Football, Mr Gary Leeds, reflected on the occasion, saying, “It was a fantastic evening to celebrate RGS Football and a great opportunity to mark the success of the season and The Challenge Cup win. I am so proud of everything the players have achieved. Congratulations particularly go to the Upper Sixth players, for whom this was their final season, and my thanks for all that they have contributed to RGS Football over the years. A special thank you to all of the coaches across the age groups, and also to our Catering team for providing an excellent meal, worthy of the occasion.”
