PPE Round Up
As the demand for PPE has now reduced, we have been able to add up the contribution made from RGSW and can confirm that we have provided 2,500 Face Visors, 120 Specialist Scrubs and 50 Scrubs Bags and 338 Goggles to the NHS and local medical providers. Even though NHS staff have been extremely busy we were incredibly touched by the messages of gratitude we received.
“To the RGS Community can I pass on my sincerest thanks from all my colleagues at Worcestershire Royal for your kind donation of face shields to help us in the fight against COVID 19. It doesn’t come as a surprise to me that you answered the call and for that, like the value you imparted on me as a student; I am eternally grateful” wrote Alistair McMinn, RGS Alumni
Thank you to the Design Technology department and particularly Mr Batchelder and Mr Holt who have given up a tremendous amount of their time to produce the face visors, while also continuing with their remote teaching. Thank you also to Mrs Gaynor-Smith who has searched high and low on the internet to achieve a steady supply of acetate for the visors.
Congratulations to the Textiles department team of Mrs Bishop and Mrs Matthews who reached their target of 120 sets of specialist scrubs- they had to qualify to be allowed to produce these high-quality products – and have been running their own production lines from home.
It has been fantastic to help the national effort and use the expertise of teachers and the School’s equipment to support the NHS. Well done everyone.
