Lucia Stars in Short Film
Year Nine Drama Scholar, Lucia Weaver, recently enjoyed a day filming for local creative communications company, DRPG. Lucia was asked to play ‘Lucy’, in ‘My Four Walls’, a short film about young carers coping with life in a pandemic.

Director, Dominic Allen, said: “Our film approach will focus around the claustrophobia, confinement (and often the resultant agoraphobic elements) that are engendered by factors associated with home care – hence the concept of ‘My Four Walls’. Taking into account the Covid environment of the last 18 months, these issues have only been exacerbated, with both carers – and the cared for – more cut off from an orthodox life, than ever before.”
Lucia filmed in various locations around Worcestershire and gained valuable experience throughout the day. She has been acting and modelling commercially from a very young age, with her first TV advert booked at the age of two.

Lucia said: “I had a great day with the crew and learnt so much about the production process. Each scene will be filmed around 8 times, to allow for multiple camera angles. As we were filming in public areas, we also had to allow for interruptions from shoppers, cyclists and local wildlife! The funniest memory will be completing a scene and having a round of applause from the shoppers.”
The short film is currently in production and will be shared by YSS (www.yss.org.uk) a local charity, on the web and social media during the next few weeks.
