Hallo, Hola, Bonjour! European Week of Languages
RGS celebrated the European Week of Languages last week, with a series of fun, language-focused events across all subject areas of the curriculum.
In Science we asked, ‘How does language learning change your brain?’. In History, Art and Music, we discovered and discussed famous European influencers, and in PE we counted our goals in French, German and Spanish!
Pupils also enjoyed the menu of European themed lunches each day, followed by playing House Pétanque on the Quad or Lower School playground and exploring the curiosity of ‘untranslatable’ words. To highlight the use of languages in life post-education, pupils enjoyed interviews with three RGS Alumni, who talked about their own experience of Modern Foreign Languages, and the impact learning them has had on their lives.
