Countdown to Coronation
The RGS Worcester Family of Schools has celebrated the Coronation of King Charles III with a range of activities across the four Schools.
At RGS Worcester pupils enjoyed an informative Headmaster’s assembly looking back at the history of past Coronations as well as exploring the upcoming public events like the Coronation Concert and The Big Coronation Lunch.
Meanwhile, at RGS Dodderhill, pupils created their own Coronation stamps, attended a whole School Coronation Church service, and made crowns in preparation for a School-wide street party themed afternoon tea. Pupils dressed in red, white and blue to mark the occasion with the School courtyard transformed with bunting.
At RGS Springfield, over 300 entries were received for a Coronation themed art competition. An art exhibition featuring the entries created a wonderful Royal celebration for the pupils to enjoy. The School grounds will also opened for a Coronation afternoon picnic for Britannia Square residents during the Bank Holiday weekend. On Tuesday, the school will host a Coronation-themed bake-off contest with pupils showcasing their finest creations.
RGS The Grange organised a Coronation-themed dance workshop for Year One pupils. Pupils also created pottery crowns and crown mosaics. The School then hosted a whole School street party themed picnic and Coronation assembly to conclude the celebrations.
The RGS Worcester Family of Schools would like to extend our congratulations to King Charles III on his Coronation.
