Celebrating Senior Football
Before the Easter holiday, we celebrated Football at RGS at the Senior Football Dinner.
Football at RGS is led with passion and enthusiasm and involves a style of play that embodies the ‘beautiful game’ and allows all pupils the opportunity to express themselves. The RGS values are apparent in everything that we do both on and off the field of play; we are fully inclusive, promoting ‘Sport for all’ and we look to excel at every opportunity. We have developed a consistent reputation for providing challenging and competitive fixtures against many of the strongest independent and state schools in the West Midlands and South West of England.
The Dinner provided an opportunity to celebrate all that has been achieved in Football this term and an opportunity to reflect on success at the Challenge Cup and a number of successes in fixtures across the season. For members of the 1st, 2nd and 3rd XIs, the evening was momentous as it was the final opportunity to celebrate as a team at RGS as the Football season drew to a close.
Head of Football, Mr Gary Leeds commented, “It was a fantastic evening to celebrate RGS Football and a great occasion to mark the success of the season. I am so proud of all the players have achieved. Congratulations particularly go to the Upper Sixth players for whom this was their final season and my thanks for all that they have contributed to RGS Football over the years. A special thank you also to our Catering team for providing an excellent meal, worthy of the occasion.”
