Celebrating Excellence in Sport at the Annual Sports Presentation Evening
Middle School and Sixth Form pupils and parents gathered in Tom Savage Sports Hall on Thursday evening for the annual Sports Presentation Evening. This event celebrates Senior Sport at RGS and recognises collective and individual contributions to a successful Sporting year.
During the Awards Ceremony, the Sports Captains for the next academic year read the reports for each Sport, written by the Heads of Sport. They then invited pupils on stage to collect their Awards. Colours were awarded to Upper Sixth leavers and the major Awards presented by Mr Fowles, Director of Sport. After the formal Awards event, the Upper Sixth students and their parents were invited for refreshments in Perrins Hall to meet up and celebrate the students’ achievements.
We would like to thank all of the pupils for their hard work and commitment this season at whatever level they have played across a wide range of Sporrts.
Major Sports Awards were presented to the following:
The Greenway Cup for Best All Round Sportsman – Callum Butler
The Wootten Cup for Best All Round Sportswoman – Teyah Farmer
The Janet Greene Cup for the Female who best epitomises our Charter for Sport – Amy Brinkley
The Reynolds Cup for the Male who best epitomises our Charter for Sport – Tom McMillan
The OE’s Prize for Sporting Excellence for Girls – Haineala Lutui, Isabelle Thompson
The OE’s Prize for Sporting Excellence for Boys – Daniel Halkon
In addition to celebrating the pupils’ achievements, the evening is an opportunity to thank the coaches and teachers for their time and commitment to supporting Sport at RGS Worcester. Without their constant drive and passion for developing Sport, none of our success at RGS would be possible.
Mr Keith Fowles, Director of Sport
