A Fun-Filled Fundraising Day for Comic Relief
Today, The RGS Worcester Family of Schools held a very successful non-uniform day to raise funds for Comic Relief Red Nose Day. Pupils were encouraged to come to School in home clothes or RGS Sports kit and try their best to wear something red.
Comic Relief supports amazing projects and organisations which are making a difference for people across the UK and around the world, including for people impacted by poverty, homelessness, domestic abuse, the drought in East Africa, or the recent earthquake in Syria and Turkey. We are so proud to be able to support this fundraising effort each year.
As part of the event, the Charity Committee organised a Staff vs Pupil Netball match at lunchtime. The pupils’ team was hampered by students playing in the 1st and 2nd team ‘Superball’ matches on Saturday not being available, for fear of injury before their big day. The match was much enjoyed by the spectators who all contributed to raising more funds for Comic Relief. For the third year running, Staff were the winners of the fiercely contested match.
Thank you to the pupil-led Charity Committee overseen by Mrs Noble and Mrs Sturdy, to our pupils, Teachers and Support staff for making this fundraising day possible. Thank you also for your individual contributions to this important fundraising event.
