RGS Digital Learning continues to reach Far and Wide
The RGS Worcester Family of Schools’ digital blueprint has once again been shared with educators and audiences far and wide.
Head of Computing & Digital Learning at RGS Dodderhill, Mrs Emma Faulkner, presented at the global, Think Ahead Accessibility Conference, presenting a case study “Facilitating an inclusive classroom”
Mrs Faulkner explains: “We are all used to using technology within our lessons at The RGS Family of Schools, but for some pupils, technology can really enhance their learning and the ability to interact with their Teachers.
This year, Think Ahead asked me to provide the Headline Keynote to demonstrate how we support our learners at RGS Dodderhill. During the presentation, I included our perspective on the importance of staff training, and how one of our pupils with additional learning needs is able to use her iPad effectively to support her progress. The session included information on the Accessibility Features available to any iPad user which is simple to implement while removing barriers which have previously hampered pupils in their learning journey.”
As part of the Apple Regional Training Centre, RGS Worcester facilitated an informative event this week, highlighting the subject of ‘Digital Poverty and the Pandemic’. The live webinar was well attended and RGS DLP experts were joined by leading professionals including Chair of EdTech UK, Ty Goddard.
We are also pleased to announce that RGS Director of Innovation, Mr John Jones and Head of Computing and IT at RGS The Grange, Mr Matt Warne, have been selected as judges in the iStore Education, Excellence in Education Awards. These awards celebrate innovative schools and educators who are using Apple technology.
