Out in the field: Geography students visit Bishops Wood
Last week, the Lower Sixth Geography students went on a trip to FSC Bishops Wood, just outside Stourport. The field centre is surrounded by stunning ancient woodland and has a unique and sustainable centre building. The grounds are also home to a large pond and several outdoor learning areas with natural wood and willow sculptures.
Students spent the first day and a half learning about the type of data they could collect and practising sampling techniques in preparation for their A Level coursework. With their remaining time they created their own title of investigation, and set out to collect the data they needed.
The trip was an opportunity for students to gain important practical experience in the field and enhance their classroom learning. It was great to see our Geography students back doing proper field work again!
