Next week! Billy Elliott on stage at the RGS Performing Arts Centre
The set is built, the costumes are ready and the cast can’t wait to entertain and delight audiences next week in the much-anticipated RGS production, ‘Billy Elliot’. With the opening night now just days away, this production will be the first in-person School Drama event since the pandemic and represents the return of ‘live’ theatre to the School’s state-of-the-art Performing Arts Centre.
The production will showcase the singing, dancing and acting talents of pupils from across the Middle School and Sixth Form, along with cameo roles from some rather theatrical RGS staff members!
Cast member and RGS pupil Catherine, who plays the part of Sharon Percy, one of the Ballet Girls, said: “‘Billy Elliot’ is my first Senior School Production and my fifth production here at RGS Worcester. I remember seeing ‘Billy Elliot’ when I was younger and immediately loving the show. It has been such an amazing opportunity to be part of this production.”
Headmaster, John Pitt, said: “We very much look forward to welcoming audiences back into School to enjoy this very special production of ‘Billy Elliott’. The pupils and staff have worked incredibly hard, spending many hours in rehearsals and behind-the-scenes preparations, to ensure this production is the best possible, and I am sure audiences will be suitably impressed. Very well done to all involved.”
‘Billy Elliot’ will be performed in the RGS Performing Art Centre for five nights, from Monday 22 November until Friday 26 November. With the last few tickets remaining, please email boxoffice@rgsw.org.uk to book. Tickets are priced at £10.00 Adult, £7.50 Concession.
