National Careers Week at RGS
National Careers Week (NCW) started on Monday 6 March, marking a one-week celebration of Careers guidance and free resources in education across the UK. We are excited to take part in this event and provide a focus for Careers guidance for our pupils.
NCW is an important event in the academic calendar and aims to help support young people in developing awareness and excitement about their future pathways. For RGS Worcester, it is a key time ahead of our Careers and Higher Education EXPO on 30 March, and an opportunity to ensure that our pupils are thinking deeply about their career aspirations.
To support this effort, we have created a National Careers Week noticeboard and provided resources, including A-Z Careers quizzes, skills crosswords and other activities for Form Tutors to use during Form time. We also organised several exciting activities, including a trip to the Morgan Motor Company in Malvern on Wednesday and mock job interviews for all Lower Sixth pupils today. Throughout the week we have invited representatives from industry to support this activity and help our pupils develop their employability skills.
The NCW promo flyer, explains in more detail the purpose of National Careers Week and the importance of careers guidance. We hope that all our pupils will take advantage of the resources and activities that we have provided to help them explore their career interests and aspirations.
Thank you to all the staff and industry representatives who have helped to make this year’s National Careers Week a success. We look forward to seeing our pupils engage with the activities and take the next steps towards their future careers.
