‘Medaling’ in Judo
Delighted Year Eight Pupil Evie Powell has recently won both silver and bronze medals in competitions held at Worcester Judo Club. Yellow belt Evie fought with great confidence in the Orange belt and under category and showed real maturity when fighting.
For the first stage of the competition Evie fought in the Red belt category finishing in 2nd place, securing a silver medal for her efforts. Evie then went on to compete in the Orange and Yellow belt category, finishing with a bronze medal which was a fantastic achievement as she was the smallest and lightest competitor in her category.
Last weekend, Evie took part in another competition at Worcester Judo club, finishing in 2nd place, gaining herself another silver medal. Evie impressively won four out of her five bouts and was then moved up to compete in the next category, Orange and Green belts. In this category Evie won two out of her four bouts, finishing joint second overall.
It is now the end of the season, but Evie is hoping to shortly secure her Orange belt.
Huge congratulations must go to Evie for her achievements, and we wish her great success in her next season of competitions!
