‘Maxing’ England Football Opportunities
RGS Worcester pupil Maxwell Moses was recently selected to attend the England Men’s Under 15 Squad Selection Camp at St George’s Park in October, the home of all 23 England National Football teams and England Football Learning.
The Camp took place over four days and included training sessions with professional staff as well as the chance to play with and against other individuals from across the country. Only 26 players were selected for the Camp, which aimed to enhance skills and experience as well as providing opportunities for development.
Maxwell’s call-up builds on his superb achievements as a part of the West Bromwich Albion Football Academy where he trains with the Under 15, Under 16 and Under 18 teams. During the four days, Maxwell played three 20-minute internal matches and attended multiple workshops, enjoyed a site tour and learned all about the history of the Football Association. The Camp also involved social activities for attendees in the form of a quiz and a tennis competition.
The camp finished with a performance review with Maxwell receiving excellent feedback from the professional coaching team.
Director of Sport, Mr Keith Fowles, commented, “I am delighted to hear and discuss Maxwell’s achievement. It is a pleasure to support such a fine young man and athlete. Maxwell has been fully engaged with all ‘Focused Sport’ and is now starting on his professional pathway in Football. Mr Leeds and I wish him every success on his Football journey”.
Huge congratulations to Maxwell for his sporting achievement. We all wish him every success in his Football career ahead, as he balances his academic and other School commitments with the same determination as he approaches his Football. He is, for example, speaking to prospective pupils and parents at Open Morning tomorrow!
