Language, Literature, and Leadership
We have recently welcomed several local primary schools to RGS Worcester to participate in various Modern Foreign Languages, English and Sport activities as part of our Outreach and Partnerships Programme.
We hosted a Modern Foreign Languages Outreach event for 150 pupils from five local primary schools. Cherry Orchard Primary School, Broadwas Primary School, Hollymount School, St George’s C of E Primary School and Honeywell Primary School all visited RGS Worcester for a morning of languages. The pupils were immersed in a range of French, German and Spanish games.
Language Leaders from Year Nine led the sessions, acting as the teachers for the day. Many positive comments were made about the pupil session leaders, including this review from Thea Allen, Broadwas Primary School: “Thank you so much for having us! We really enjoyed the morning, and we were particularly impressed with how well the RGS pupils delivered the lessons. You clearly have quite a few teachers in the making!”
The English Department welcomed pupils from Northwick Manor Primary School for an interactive and fun English Outreach event. Pupils enjoyed a creative writing session based on a ghost school followed by a fun English-themed Treasure Hunt.
Pupils from St George’s Church of England Primary School joined us for a fun multi-sports lesson. Well done to our RGS Worcester Middle School Sports Leaders, who are undertaking the Community Sports Leadership qualification, for leading pupils in this session. The qualification is teaching our pupils leadership skills such as organisation, planning, communication, and teamwork through the medium of sport.
A big thank you to everyone for joining us! We look forward to hosting our ‘Eggstravaganza’ Engineering Challenge next week for our own Prep Schools’ pupils and then for local primary schools, followed by our primary schools Netball tournament.
