ISFA Football Success and Egyptian Adventures
Year Ten pupil Theo Houston recently attended the ISFA Under 15 Football National training camp, playing in back-to-back fixtures against London-based Fox Academy and Chelsea FC Academy.
Theo and the Under 15 National ISFA team excelled against Fox Academy, comfortably winning 9-0. The fixture against Chelsea FC Academy was a much closer affair with ISFA running out 4-2 winners with Theo playing his part in the win with a second-half penalty save.
Theo continued his Football during the Christmas holidays by travelling to Egypt for an International tournament with Aston Villa academy as an Under 15 Goalkeeper. This was an amazing experience where he also enjoyed visiting the pyramids.
Theo commented: “It was a great honour to be selected for the ISFA National team representing RGS. It’s good to meet other players from different schools with the same drive and ambition. We all get on well on and off the pitch and the coaches go out of their way to make sure we can give our best on the pitch and enjoy the experience.
Playing football in Egypt for Aston Villa was an amazing experience. The people we met were so welcoming and the Egyptians are really passionate about their football. Some Egyptian boys even asked for my Aston Villa t-shirt! It was a great tournament on and off the field as well, with unforgettable experiences that I’ll never forget, like visiting the great Pyramids of Giza. Experiences like this make me work even harder at my game as I recognise what a privilege it is playing in such tournaments.”
Congratulations to Theo for his Football achievements!
