Inspiring Careers – QinetiQ
For our first Careers seminar of the academic year, we were joined by RGS Alumnus, Matt Croydon, Scientist and Deputy STEM Co-ordinator at QinetiQ. Pupils from Year Seven – Upper Sixth were invited to engage and ask questions about career choices.
Matt developed a passion for all things Science during his time at RGS before studying a Physics degree and joining QinetiQ. He was joined by a colleague who had recently completed a Cybersecurity and Cryptography Degree Apprenticeship, presenting the benefits of working in a global defence company like QinetiQ, while studying for a degree.
QinetiQ is a world centre of excellence in research and development offering outstanding experimentation facilities, technical engineering and scientific expertise, covering land, air, maritime and cybersecurity domains. Matt asked pupils what they knew about QinetiQ and impressively, Dylan Cornacchia, Year Seven, was able to explain very clearly and comprehensively the functions of the Malvern-based company.
Thank you very much to Matt and his colleague for giving up his time to support the pupils at RGS.
Our Careers Seminars will be ongoing throughout the year and next month we will be joined by a Director of Medical Admissions from a Russell Group University.
