Going the extra mile: Return to competitive Cross-Country fixtures
Competitive Cross-Country fixtures have started once again this term, with RGS Worcester taking teams to run at events at Abberley Hall and Bromsgrove School. This was the first opportunity for the Under 13 teams to represent the School and all the team members ran well on the challenging Abberley course, with Jonathan Abbotts leading home the Boys’ team in 10th place and Lexi Agoston first across the line for the Girls’ team in 11th.
In the ESAA Cross-Country Cup, RGS took Under 13 and Under 15 teams to compete against other schools from across Herefordshire and Worcestershire. With the first four runners counting towards the team score, the Junior Boys secured First place in their competition, pipping Haybridge High School by just one point. Second place finishes for the Intermediate Boys’ and Girls’ teams rounded off a very successful afternoon’s running and saw all these squads qualify for the Regional round later this month.
