‘Give us a Clue’: A‘Whodunnit’ in the PAC
With less than a week to go until ‘Clue’ is performed in the Performing Arts Centre, the cast and crew have been working extremely hard to prepare.
‘Clue’ is a murder-mystery farce set in a mansion filled with colourful characters, secrets, and, of course, plenty of comedic chaos. The tale begins when six mysterious guests assemble for an unusual dinner party where murder and blackmail are on the menu.
Due to the overwhelming enthusiasm and talent demonstrated by our pupils during auditions, two ensembles have been cast. This decision allowed for more opportunities for our actors to showcase their skills and shine on stage. Each cast brings unique energy and interpretation to the characters, adding an extra layer of excitement to the production.
The cast also had some excitement and words of inspiration from the writer of ‘Clue’. Mr Garrity contacted Sandy Rustin and she very kindly sent a filmed message to inspire and encourage the RGS pupils for their production.
Mr Jak Garrity commented: “As a dedicated fan of both the iconic board game Cluedo (on which the film and play ‘Clue’ are based) and the 1980s film adaptation, it has been an absolute joy collaborating with our talented Year Nine and Ten pupils to bring this classic tale to life on stage. I have had the pleasure of watching our pupils embrace the absurdity of the script and bring their own unique flair to each character, ensuring that every moment on stage is a delight for audiences of all ages.”
Callum Munday, who plays ‘Wadsworth’ said: “This is my second production at RGS and I will be playing ‘Wadsworth the Butler’ in this year’s production of ‘Clue’. I have really enjoyed working with the rest of the cast and Mr Garrity. I hope you enjoy the evening and manage to survive ‘Boddy Manor’”.
Thomas Pound, who plays ‘Mustard’ commented: “This is my third production at RGS and I am very happy to be performing as Colonel Mustard. I have particularly enjoyed the rehearsals with the rest of the cast, which has been a very fun process. I hope everyone enjoys the show!”
Bruno Bond Evans who will also play ‘Mustard’ in the other cast, said: “This is my fifth production at RGS and I am really excited to play ‘Colonel Mustard’ in this production of ‘Clue’. I have really enjoyed working with the rest of the cast and hope you enjoy the show!”
‘Clue’ will be performed in the RGS Performing Arts Centre for three nights, from Wednesday 6 March until Friday 8 March. Tickets are now on sale and to purchase your ticket, please do so online at trybooking.com/uk/DCVD.
