Exhibiting ‘City Life’ Creativity in the Cathedral
Talented RGS Worcester Lower Sixth artists were privileged, once again, to be invited by the Dean and Chapter of Worcester Cathedral to exhibit work in the Dean’s Chapel over the Half term holiday.
The starting point for the work was a walking trip around Worcester last term, which included a visit to the city’s Cathedral. The students took lots of photographs and made observational drawings, which they have since developed into finished pieces of artwork which were displayed in the exhibition.
Head of Art, Mrs Jo Hunt said: “The students have aimed to represent the theme ‘City Life’ and have created very individual artwork using a wide range of media; from expressive drawings to mixed media and oil paintings”.
The ‘City Life’ exhibition ran from 18 February to 27 February in the Cathedral and was very well received by the many visitors at this busy time of year.
Well done to all our Lower Sixth artists!
