Exceptional 2024 Examination Results across A-Level and GCSE

We are incredibly proud to share the outstanding achievements of our pupils. This year’s results reflect the hard work, dedication, and perseverance of our pupils, as well as the unwavering support from our dedicated teaching staff and the wider school community. The achievements at both A-Level and GCSE are a testament to the academic excellence that RGS Worcester continues to uphold.

Students enjoyed a wonderful Results Day at RGS Worcester celebrating their Public Examination results. We were delighted to see our Upper Sixth group achieving their offers for Universities and other courses, after superb results in their A Levels, BTECs, CTECs and EPQs.

In the BTEC/CTECs on offer, 94% of all Grades were the top Distinction* or Distinction

RGS Worcester’s School Captains celebrated outstanding achievements in their A Levels.

School Captain and Netball Captain, Izzy Thompson achieved a place at Birmingham University to study Psychology after achieving A*A*A*.

Talented all-round sportsman and musician Callum Butler, who played for the 1st team in Cricket and Rugby, achieved A*AA.

Callum Lockett who was one of the top ranked speakers at the Cambridge Schools Debating and a superb actor, secured a Law Degree Apprenticeship with leading law firm Weightmans based in Birmingham.

School Captain and Chamber Choir member Catherine Broadbent achieved A*AA and is set to study Theology at Oxford University. Her success is particularly impressive as she achieved this while also starring as the lead in the School’s performance of ‘Miss Saigon’.

Worcester Cathedral chorister Martha Burdon will read Asian and Middle Eastern Studies at Cambridge University. Earlier this year Martha sang at the Maundy Service in front of the Queen.

Arianne Eddy achieved a place to study Classics at Oxford University. She recently won the Oxford University St. John’s College Classics & Ancient History Essay Competition.

Hockey Captain and 1st VII Netballer Teyah Farmer achieved 3 A*s in her A Levels enabling her to continue to pursue her passion for Textiles whilst studying Fashion Design and Technology at Loughborough.

England Roses Under 18 Rugby player Ala Lutui will be heading to Loughborough University to study Sports and Exercise Psychology whilst also playing Rugby with Loughborough Lightning. Ala received 2 As and 1 B in her A Levels.

Hannah, Isabelle and Ellen Mae achieved a straight set of Grade 9s in their chosen GCSE subjects.

Triple Twin Triumph

Twins Eden and Ellis Williamson, achieved 20 GCSEs between them with four at the top grade 9. An exceptional Netball player, Eden plays for the Severn Stars pathway. Ellis is a keen Cricketer who plays for the School’s 1st XI. Twins Harry and Izzy Green also earned 20 GCSEs, with an impressive 12 at Grades 9 and 8. Meanwhile, twins Leyla and Yasmina Rashid excelled by securing 20 GCSEs between them, including 14 at Grade 9 and five at Grade 8.

Sporting successes

West Midlands Academy Rugby player Noah Whitbread achieved ten GCSEs with eight at the top Grades 8 and 9. Talented Girls’ Hockey and Cricket player, Fynn Butler celebrated after achieving all Grades 9 and 8.

Pupil Stories

RGS Worcester is delighted to celebrate the excellent achievements of Sasha Penlington, who has excelled both on screen, in concerts and in the classroom. Sasha, a Drama and Music Scholar who appeared on Netflix, achieved an impressive nine GCSEs at Grade 9 and one GCSE at Grade 8. Her success is a testament to her talent, dedication, and ability to balance her academic and artistic pursuits. Last year, Sasha organised a concert which raised over £2,000 to support a Ukrainian charity.

Three Ukrainian pupils sat their GCSEs after two years at the School, each achieving at the top Grade 9. This follows on from last week’s A Level Results where two Ukrainian pupils achieved their A Level Grades to study at University. The RGS community is delighted to have supported these pupils in their time of need, provided stability for their studies and the chance to achieve success, even while studying away from home and in a different language

Inspiring pupil Libby Parker achieved four GCSEs at Grade 9, while facing the challenges of Long Covid which limited the time she could spend in school each day and through each week. Libby raised over £8,000 with her ‘Big Push’ fundraising for children affected by Long Covid. She is looking forward to her A Level studies, supported by RGS. Libby is looking forward to the ‘Big Push 3’ later this year.
