England Under 18 Women’s Rugby Call-Up for Pupil Haineala Lutui
We are delighted to hear the news that Haineala Lutui, Lower Sixth, has been selected for the England Under 18 Women’s Rugby Squad ahead of the forthcoming internationals.
Haineala Lutui has been training with the England Under 18 Women’s Squad since August 2022 and has been named in the final Squad following a training camp earlier this month. This is an outstanding achievement ahead of competitive matches against Wales on March 5 and the Women’s Under 18 Six Nations, held between April 6 and 16.
Haineala represents the RGS Worcester Under 18 Girls team and is also part of the Athlete Development Programme and Worcester Warriors Women Centre of Excellence, which helps to support and develop Under 18 female players on their Rugby journey. This programme is run in collaboration with the Rugby Football Union and is intended to give more girls the opportunity to progress through the England Pathway.
Haineala, who plans to pursue a professional Rugby career, said: “I was happy and very excited when I received news of my selection for the England training squad. I am currently very focused on my training and always working to improve my Rugby skills”.
Head of Rugby and Assistant Head of Year Eleven, Mr Robert Lewis commented: “This is fantastic news for Haineala, who has put in a lot of hard work to achieve her goal. It is great to see the continued growth of Women’s Rugby, with schools including RGS Worcester now offering the sport as part of their provision. Haineala will be an integral part of our RGS Worcester Under 18 Girls’ team, who will participate in the National Rosslyn Park 7’s competition at the end of March, hopefully surpassing our Plate Quarter-Final achievement from last season”.
Huge congratulations to Heineala for her England call-up and we wish her every success in her blossoming Rugby career.
