El Zorro arrives at RGS!
The stage is set for next week’s hotly anticipated performance of ‘Zorro the Musical’ at RGS Worcester. The famous tale of the masked hero, ‘El Zorro’, fighting for justice and freedom is told in an immersive and thrilling production. Set to the red-hot, foot-tapping beat of the Gipsy Kings, ‘Zorro’ is probably the most exciting musical that RGS has seen to date.
The production will showcase the singing, dancing, acting and musical talents of pupils from across RGS Worcester. George Jasper, who plays the role of ‘Zorro’, said: “I have been a part of every Senior School production since Year Ten, but I am particularly excited about this production, and you should be too!”.
Olivia Neale, who plays ‘Luisa Pulido,’ said of the production: “We have had to tackle new, interesting elements to our performance, yet this hasn’t detracted from the enjoyment of the cast. I hope you enjoy it!”.
Headmaster Mr John Pitt said: “This is an ambitious production for a school given the wide range of technical requirements from the cast and crew, including stage combat and dance. With the Creative Arts thriving at RGS Worcester, it is lovely to bring together so many talented pupils and staff as we enjoy a tale of love, hope and courage from the past and for the future”.
The zest and passion of Spain and California in the 19th Century come to life on stage in the Performing Arts Centre and will leave you with racing hearts and shouting out the name ‘El Zorro!’ ‘Zorro the Musical’ will be performed in the RGS Performing Arts Centre for five nights, from Monday 28 November until Friday 2 December, with a matinée performance to some local schools on Friday afternoon.
