Design and Technology Trip to Morgan Cars
GCSE Design and Technology Materials students from Year Ten went on an exciting trip to the Morgan Motor Company on Wednesday to learn about different materials and how to manipulate them. The trip was a great opportunity for pupils to gain practical knowledge and witness first-hand how a range of materials are used in the manufacture of these iconic cars.
During the trip, the pupils had the privilege of touring the Morgan site and factory where they were able to see skilled men and women bending, rolling, shaping, forming, and joining a huge variety of materials to create these magnificent cars. Morgan is a unique automotive company that combines old and new materials to hand manufacture all their cars, and our pupils were amazed to see the skill and craftsmanship that goes into each vehicle.
This trip was an excellent opportunity for the GCSE pupils to expand their knowledge of materials, learn new techniques and get a better understanding of the manufacturing process. It was a fantastic experience for all involved and they gained valuable insights and inspiration for their future work in Design and Technology.
We would like to thank the Morgan Motor Company for providing us with such a memorable experience, and we look forward to more opportunities for our pupils to engage in practical learning activities.
