Cross-Country Cup Runners Qualify for National Finals
Three teams of RGS Worcester pupils took part in the Regional Final of the ESAA Cross-Country Cup last week which was held around the grounds of Bromsgrove School. Against strong competition from schools as far away as Chester, RGS runners acquitted themselves very well.
Taking part for the first time in recent years, our Senior Boys’ team achieved a strong 5th place overall. The Junior Boys also performed well, finishing in a creditable 8th place. However, the best result of the competition went to the Junior Girls’ squad who were led home by Lexi Agoston and Claudia Barker in 4th and 8th places respectively in their race. The cumulative team score of 58 points saw them come 3rd overall and, as a result, the team has qualified for the National Finals to be held in Leeds next month.
Well done to everyone involved for their fantastic achievements. The RGS Community wishes everyone the best of luck for the National Finals next month.
