Christmas celebrations at the RGS Worcester Family of Schools
With the start of December and the Christmas holidays in sight, the RGS Worcester Family of Schools have some spectacular Christmas festivities planned for the coming weeks, providing joyful celebration and showcasing the talents of the pupils in our four Schools.
RGS Dodderhill enjoyed their Christingle Service in nearby St. Augustine’s Church in Droitwich Spa. Pupils celebrated the meaning of Christingle, sharing poems, song and prayer alongside the traditional Christingle oranges representing the world, and the lit candles representing hope.
Pupils from RGS The Grange were delighted to join in the Kidsmas Live this week – a concert organised by Barnardo’s Children’s charity and hosted at Birmingham Town Hall. The event was part of Barnardo’s Kidsmas campaign which aims to help vulnerable children rediscover the magic of Christmas this festive season, asking people across the country to come together with families, friends and communities to raise vital funds to help vulnerable children feel part of a happy, safe and caring Christmas.
Pupils from Year One and Two at RGS Springfield had great fun sharing their Nativity play, ‘Everyone Loves a Baby’ with their families this week, complete with singing, dancing and lots of smiles! Next week, we look forward to the much anticipated Early Years Performance of ‘A Magical Night’, held in the enchanting wooded Forest School area of the School grounds.
RGS Worcester’s Performing Arts Centre will host ‘Christmas with the Big Band’ on Monday evening and then the Carol Service which will take place in Worcester Cathedral on Wednesday 15 December.
