Celebrating a Successful Rugby Season
On Friday 9 December we celebrated RGS Rugby at the Senior Boys Rugby Dinner.
Unlike previous years, this year’s Senior Rugby Dinner was an informal event held in Main Hall, allowing pupils to socialise and enjoy the company of their peers and reflect on the Rugby season. For members of the 1st, 2nd and 3rd XVs the evening was momentous as it was the final opportunity to celebrate as a team at RGS as the Rugby season draws to a close.
In total, 105 pupils attended the Dinner together with 15 members of staff. The evening was a chance to thank parents and pupils for their dedication to RGS Rugby over the season and to hand out prizes for exceptional contributions.
The Player of the Season Awards presented during the evening were as follows:
1st XV Joe Whitbread
2nd XV Harry Pick
3rd XV Dashiel Hingley
Awards for the Junior age group teams were presented in Games lessons, with a further three players in each group receiving recognition awards.
Mr Rob Lewis, Head of Rugby, said: “It was a fantastic evening to round off a very pleasing first term of RGS Worcester Sport. The rugby programme continues to develop onwards and upwards, and it was a great occasion to reflect and highlight on the progression and development that has been made. I would like to take this opportunity to give thanks to everyone that has contributed this season in driving the provision forward”.
Congratulations to those whose achievements this term were recognised through the Awards and for the Senior Boys’ contribution to team sport. Our thanks go to everyone who attended the event, making it a thoroughly enjoyable evening. A special thank you to our catering team for providing an excellent meal, worthy of the occasion.
