Art in the Heart of the City
Amidst the recent tropically warm weather, the Art Department chose the day of horizontal rain for the Lower Sixth Art walking tour of Worcester. Motivated by JMW Turner, who allegedly strapped himself to the mast of a ship to experience a storm first hand, our students were undaunted by the weather. Showing typical RGS resilience they spent the day gathering information for this initial A Level project through photography and sketching.
They visited Worcester landmarks including the Guildhall and the Commandery as well as less well-known areas of the City. Back in the studios, our artists will use their visual findings to develop a portfolio of work culminating in an exhibition displaying their work to the public during the Lent Half term in Worcester Cathedral.
