Arkwright Engineering Scholarship

Adrian Fok, Lower Sixth, found out this week that he has been awarded an Arkwright Scholarship. The Arkwright Engineering Scholarships programme is the most prestigious scholarship scheme of its type in the UK. Each year a handful of these scholarships are awarded to aspiring leaders wanting to pursue Engineering. After a rigorous selection process, significantly hampered and amended due to the COVID-19 restrictions this year, Adrian was successful in his application.

Each Scholarship is sponsored by a commercial company or professional institution. The support now available to Adrian is fantastic with valuable hands-on work experience offered, support for curriculum projects and a personal mentor to help him with career aspirations. Adrian writes: “First and foremost, I am most grateful to Mr Batchelder, who presented this opportunity to me last year. Being awarded such a prestigious title is definitely going to be one of my greatest achievements. I still cannot believe that I have been selected from a few thousand applicants – and most applicants are much brighter than me! It is really an honour to be an Arkwright Scholar and also one of the few successful candidates from this school.”
