A Level Politics
Why study Politics? Because it is live, exciting and relevant to our everyday existence!
From Westminster to Worcester, the decision-making processes in politics impinge on us all, whether it be Brexit or local bus and train services. An understanding of the processes and systems that lead to these decisions means a real grasp of the issues that impact us daily.

Developing independent thinking
Politics is available as an A Level subject in the Sixth Form, where pupils have the opportunity to study UK and US government and politics. They also explore a number of key political ideologies: conservatism, liberalism, socialism and nationalism. We aspire to develop Sixth Form students who have independent thinking, problem-solving and decision-making skills in a friendly and supportive environment.
Our students visit Parliament and the UK Supreme Court in London, and we run a joint trip with Economics to Washington and New York. Students regularly take part in mock elections, and attend online and in-person panel discussions with politicians.
