A Thriving Hockey Community at RGS Worcester
Last Wednesday was a busy day for RGS Hockey with the Senior boys making real progress in their Hockey during Games lessons with Mr Evetts, but we also welcomed Fortitude, Hockey Goalkeeping Specialists to the Worcester International Hockey Centre to deliver specialist training.
Our Senior Elite girls were put through their paces in the afternoon by the extremely knowledgeable trainer, Gareth Ikin. Our Junior boys and girls, including goalkeepers from RGS The Grange and RGS Springfield, then joined us for a fun and engaging training session. All pupils left tired but invigorated from their sessions, and eager to try out new skills in their next Hockey match.
The RGS Under 12A Boys and Under 12A Girls Hockey teams also played at the Midlands Regional In2Hockey finals last week. The girls had qualified for this tournament as County Winners earlier in the season. In extremely wet and cold conditions, the highlight of the day for the boys was their win against The Lacon Childe School, and for the girls was a 4-0 win against Wrekin College and they finished 3rd in the group.
Well done to all of the teams and players for their continued commitment and contribution to create a thriving Hockey community at RGS Worcester.
