Bespoke Education for Girls
At Senior School, the focus invariably moves towards preparing your daughter for GCSE. The small size of our Senior School for girls means we offer your daughter a bespoke education based on her strengths, needs, interests and talents. You can be certain that she’ll achieve her full potential here.
Academic Excellence – Top School in Worcestershire
RGS Dodderhill has set a high standard in academic excellence, securing its place as the top school in Worcestershire. This achievement comes as a result of the School’s recent performance in Attainment 8, an annual measure that gauges the academic performance of all secondary schools.

Our Senior School Ethos
If your daughter struggles with some aspects of the curriculum, she’ll be supported by highly experienced and well-qualified specialist subject staff and SENCo. If she is very able, she’ll find challenge and extension within the gifted and talented programme. This is one of the reasons that we are consistently at the top of the Worcestershire League Tables for our GCSE results and continue to stand out against other independent girls’ schools.
The Digital Learning programme really comes into its own at Senior School, with lessons, work and marked homework all stored together in one electronic filing cabinet. Your daughter has all she needs to revise at the touch of a button. ‘Homework Club’ is free and open to all children in both Prep and Senior School every night from 4.00 pm until 6.00 pm. It is supervised by a member of the teaching staff and provides a quiet and comfortable place, free from distractions, that enables everyone to focus.

Developing Balanced Young Women
Alongside the very high academic standards we set in the Senior Section, it is our aim to develop well-rounded and balanced young women who will achieve their full potential in all areas. Good work habits, an enquiring mind and the ability to think independently are characteristics of the confident young women who leave RGS Dodderhill after their GCSEs. Sixth Forms and Colleges in the area are always pleased to accept RGS Dodderhill girls for their next stage of education, and many achieve scholarships to their first choice of Sixth Form. A high percentage do go on to the Sixth Form at RGS Worcester.
Girls in the Senior School are encouraged to fulfil their potential in a wide range of academic, practical, creative and physical activities. Nearly all girls in Year Ten complete the Bronze Duke of Edinburgh Award to help build confidence and resilience, as well as independence and teamwork. All girls participate in various extra-curricular activities ranging from choirs, orchestras, sports clubs and volunteering within the local community. We have several pupils who compete at County, Regional and National level. Through a stimulating enrichment programme, study skills, careers advice and preparation for Sixth Form girls are supported and developed.
