Outstanding Performance at Collegiate Tournament Sets the Stage for ‘Superball’
The Netball 1st VII squad delivered an outstanding performance at the Collegiate Tournament in Bristol, showcasing exceptional skill and determination throughout the competition. Winning five out of six pool games and narrowly missing out on an unbeaten record by just one goal, the team secured second place in their pool and a place in the Cup semi-final against Pool A winners, King Edward’s School, Bath.
Demonstrating excellent teamwork and control, the girls claimed an 8-4 victory in the semi-final, earning a well-deserved place in the final against Taunton School —the only team to have edged past them earlier in the tournament. The final was ‘live-streamed’ and, rising to the challenge, the RGS team produced a dominant performance, securing the tournament title in style with a commanding 13-5 win.
This coming week, our 1st and 2nd VII teams have been training hard in preparation for the ‘Sisters n Sport’ Plate Final at Loughborough University on 20 March and then ‘Superball’ on 22 March. Our RGS Worcester Netball squads enjoyed an energising session at the University of Worcester Arena as they prepare for what promises to be another thrilling contest. After last year’s exciting matches, including a 52-41 victory for the 1st VII, we hope you and your family will join us to support our Senior Netball players. Tickets have already sold out for this event, but the match will be streamed online. ‘Superball’ is always a highlight for the RGS community, and we look forward to creating an electric atmosphere once again.
