Hands-On Learning at Morgan Cars for Design and Technology Pupils
Year Ten Design and Technology GCSE Resistant Materials pupils recently had the opportunity to visit Morgan Cars in Malvern, gaining a unique insight into the craftsmanship behind these iconic vehicles.
The visit brought their classroom learning to life as they observed the entire manufacturing process from start to finish. Morgan cars are built entirely by hand, combining traditional and modern techniques and using a mix of new and old materials. Pupils were particularly impressed by the precision and attention to detail achieved through a low-tech approach. It was fascinating to see how aluminium and ash could be transformed into such beautifully engineered vehicles. With Morgan Cars being the only car manufacturer in the world to still use these methods and located so close to RGS Worcester, the visit was a truly valuable experience.
