The Big Push 2
Year Eleven pupil Libby Parker will be embarking on The Big Push 2 on Sunday 17 September to raise awareness and funds for Long Covid Kids.
Following the success of last year’s Big Push where Libby raised over £5,600 for Long Covid Kids, the Big Push 2 will see Libby being pushed the length of a marathon around Worcester to raise awareness and funds for Long Covid Kids.
Libby said: “I wanted to do something positive and raising awareness is so important to aid people in understanding what going through long Covid is like”.
Libby fell ill weeks after being diagnosed with Covid-19 on 1 August 2021. Two years on she has been left with ongoing difficulties from the debilitating condition. Libby said: “Since August 2021, I have struggled with fatigue, nausea, racing heart, brain fog, and various other symptoms. I have been unable to attend school full time, most weeks three hours have been my limit, and some weeks I haven’t been able to go in at all. I use a wheelchair for any walking outside of the house”.
The event will start at Perdiswell Leisure Centre and will finish at RGS Worcester where we look forward to celebrating with Libby after her fantastic achievement. Libby encourages everyone to get involved whether by joining her on the walk, donating to her GoFundMe page ( Donations via https://gofund.me/547e069f) or by sharing her social media posts.
