Maddox Jones Inspires and Educates Pupils with Music and Mental Health PSHE Lesson
RGS Worcester welcomed talented singer-songwriter, and musician, Maddox Jones to lead a PSHE lesson on Mental Health and Drug Education for Years Nine and Ten pupils.
Maddox possesses a powerful and distinctive voice, often drawing comparisons to iconic vocalists such as Freddie Mercury and Jeff Buckley. His music combines elements of pop, rock, and electronic genres, creating a unique and dynamic sound.
In addition to his musical talent, Maddox has had his own struggles with mental health and drug addiction in the past and has now completely turned his life around for the better. Maddox feels he is in the perfect position to talk about these issues with young people. Maddox said he is excited to be promoting such a positive message to young people around the UK and feels he is in a great position to inspire and give good advice and guidance.
PSHCE is an integral part of the RGS curriculum and pastoral system which is regularly reviewed to make sure we are delivering current and useful content.
The aims of the PSHCE programme at RGS Worcester is to develop skills and attributes such as resilience, self-esteem, risk management, teamworking and critical thinking in the context of three core themes: health and wellbeing, relationships, and living in the wider world (including economic wellbeing and aspects of careers education). A comprehensive programme is in place for each Year group making sure our pupils are equipped to deal with life’s highs and lows.
The Year Nine and Ten pupils really engaged with the assembly. One Year Nine pupil commented, “It was really enjoyable to listen to Maddox perform and give advice on making the right decisions in life to live a healthy lifestyle.
