First Ever ‘Giving Day’ for The RGS Family of Schools
We are so excited to be holding our first ever RGS Giving Day next week on 22-23 March and that all our staff and pupils here at RGS Worcester will be a key part of it. Communications informing parents, Alumni and friends of the School have already generated a number of gifts which is wonderful and will ensure a great start on Wednesday.
Giving Days have proved hugely successful in a number of schools similar to RGS; they provide opportunities for everyone to make a big impact over a short period of time. Every penny raised on our Giving Day will go towards life-changing Bursaries across The RGS Family of Schools. It is all about young people and changing lives in our community.
We are calling on the RGS community to support this incredible initiative and, pivotally, to support the children as they take part in a number of challenges which will form a part of the Giving Day. Donors can support children in their challenges and in turn support the Giving Day by donating on our dedicated website here.
At RGS Worcester, pupils will be undertaking the following challenges:
1291 Goals Challenge: Pupils have been challenged to score 1291 goals during our Giving Day. There will be hoops and nets set up here over the 36 hours so all pupils can participate in the Giving Day and help #ChangeALife!
1291 Music Challenge: Over the Giving Day, pupils will be challenged to achieve an amazing 12.91 hours of live music across the four schools. From bands to choirs, classical to jazz, pupils will be encouraged to play live music throughout and entertain their peers. Our musicians will be keeping us entertained here with a range of tunes and talents.
1291 Rowing Challenge: On the water and on the ergos in the gym, pupils and staff have been challenged with rowing an impressive collective 1291kms!
Home Clothes Green Day – 22 March 2023: On Wednesday 22 March, all pupils are invited to wear their own clothes featuring as much green as possible with a suggested donation of £1 brought into School on the day.
So, please do support our pupils, spread the word and give if you can. Wider family, grandparents and friends may also want to support the Giving Day, so please do let them know all about it too. Every single penny will make a huge difference.
