Excellent Performance at Cross-Country Championships
The RGS Worcester Cross-country teams have been in action again over the past week, with another set of impressive performances.
At the Herefordshire and Worcestershire County Championships, held at Bromsgrove School, a large contingent of 13 runners took part across the different age categories. All the pupils acquitted themselves very well against the best runners from across the two counties.
Stand-out results were achieved by Lexi Agoston (2nd , Dylan Teasdale (4th ), Jacob Bunyan (7th ) and Luke Jones (8th ) which puts them in line to be selected for the National Cross-country Championships in March.
In addition, our Under 13 Boys’ and Under 13 Girls’ teams once again took part in the Abberley Hall relays. In unusually benign conditions, the teams ran strongly with very quick times achieved despite the steep hills involved. The Boys’ team achieved a very creditable 3rd place in their race, while the Girls’ team continued their great form this season and were overall winners. They were led home by Lexi Agoston, who set a new course record, backed up by excellent runs from the other team members – Fleur Higgs, Evie Kilby and Claudia Barker. With the Under 11 Boys’ team from RGS The Grange also winning their race, the future of Cross-country running is looking bright at The RGS Family of Schools!
Well done to Lexi, Dylan, Jacob and Luke for their excellent achievements!
