Engineering Exploration
At the end of last term, Year Ten pupils studying GCSE Engineering at RGS were treated to an inside look into the workings of Yamazaki Mazak at the company’s European centre here in Worcester.
Pupils were taken around the workshop floor by Mazak’s own engineering apprentices, where they saw real working processes. As a special surprise, there was on show a Merlin engine used by both Spitfire and Lancaster aircraft. Pupils then had the opportunity to see some of the Mazak machines in operation, and learn more about the application of their studies, inspiring them to consider Engineering as a future career.
Our very grateful thanks go to Mazak for providing the opportunity for the pupils to visit and see Engineering in action in such an impressive working environment.
Mr Stuart, Teacher of Design & Technology and Engineering.
