Outstanding Sculling at the Worcester Spring Regatta
Following two weeks of excellent weather during the training sessions, RGS rowers were back in action last weekend, at the Worcester Spring Regatta.
The event was a great success with RGS rowers showing real improvements in rowing skill and technique and continuing to work together well as a squad. This team work certainly showed with excellent rowing demonstrated during the day as well as excellent results too with RGS Worcester entering 23 crews, winning 16 races, reaching 7 finals and winning 4 events.
During the presentation of the winner’s pots, RGS Worcester Boat Club was awarded the Regatta’s Sculling Award for Outstanding Sculling at the event. The award started in 1928 and has been awarded to the R.A.F Rowing Club, Thames Rowing Club and Star and Arrow Rowing Club, amongst others.
Well done to all who participated and who should be extremely proud of their rowing, I look forward to seeing the development of the rowers in future races.
