Loïc Awarded Silver at British National Judo Championships
Congratulations to RGS Lower Sixth student Loïc Keasey who competed at the British National Judo Championships in Sheffield last weekend. Loïc has had a busy term, playing a key role in the 1st XV Rugby team this term, and so his performance at the Judo Championships exceeded all expectations with him winning the Silver medal in the under 90Kg Cadet category.
As a result of his strong performance in this competition and to the professionalism, hard work, talent and prowess Loïc has consistently demonstrated as a member of the England Development squad, he has been selected to join the England National Cadet Judo squad which is a tremendous achievement.
Loïc’s father, Mr Keasey said: “I would like to take this opportunity to thank Mr Lewis for the mentoring he has provided Loïc during the past 18 months as his Elite Athlete Development Programme lead. Mr Lewis, has supported and encouraged Loïc to manage his own learning in order that he may maximise his potential, develop his skills, improve his performances and shape the goals he wants to achieve.”
Mr Keasey added: “As a family, we are very proud of Loïc’s sporting achievements, but we also recognise that the values instilled by RGSW: Resolute, Gracious, Selfless and Willing, have significantly contributed to the successes Loïc has achieved in both Rugby and Judo.”
