Textiles is a ‘Hive’ of Activity
This week the Year Ten Textiles group spent their afternoon lesson at The Hive. With ‘Modern Architecture’ as the topic for their most recent GCSE project, the pupils enjoyed the opportunity to gather some primary research by taking a range of photographs of our local landmark building. They used their viewfinders to capture interesting angles and details that they can develop into Textiles pieces later in the project. The pupils also produced a number of observational drawings focussing on perspective and line, with some timed drawings using pen and ink.
Back in the classroom, the pupils have used their iPads to develop their images into a range of fabric prints.
The pupils thoroughly enjoyed the afternoon and have plenty of new materials from which to develop individual sketchbooks; we are looking forward to seeing their work progress next term!
